During 2008, I was involved with a number of exploratory expeditions from 20-50 miles off Eyemouth, East Scotland. In this area the seabed rises to around 50-70m and is an area with many undived wrecks. Very exciting diving, being the first ones to see them since they sunk during the last century. Many with brass fittings (compass's & binnacles, portholes galore!) intact and with over 20m visability. Bells were found on all the wrecks and recovered to aide identifcation. All were reported to the Reciever of Wrecks.
In May 2008 I led a British Sub-Aqua Club funded Trimix expedition to explore the classic offshore wrecks of Malin Head. We had four wonderful days of diving, although there was a massive plankton bloom. This reduced the ambient light but underneath the green soup the viz was amazing. The wrecks were unbelievable and also thrown in were 4 days of super sunshine and basking sharks!!!
