Napier Aquarium

Napier aquarium, houses a number of large Sevengill Sharks, with Big Girl the mother at around 3m long.
Along with these predators, smaller School Sharks, Stingrays, Snapper, Blue Cod and even a large Hapuka cruises round the tank!
The tank mirrors the ambient sea temperature with the water being filtered from the local coast. Things slow down a bit in winter with the cold but come summer the sharks are hungry!!
The tank hold up to 1.5 millions litres of water and the acrylic of the tunnel is around 3 inches thick!
